HN7000S Upgrade Procedure for Former Agristar
(DW6000/DW7000) Customers


Introduction:

  • This document contains important information for users upgrading to HughesNet from Agristar services.

  • If you are not upgrading from Agristar services, ignore and discard this document and refer only to the HN System Upgrading to a Model HN7000S Remote Terminal guide (Hughes Part # 1037076-0001).

  • Below are the steps to be taken to register your HN7000S modem. For issues activating your new modem, please call 1-877-611-0831. For all other support needs, please contact 866-347-3292.


Procedure/Solution:

  1. Before beginning this upgrade process, you will need the following information:
    • Your new Hughes Site Account Number (SAN)
    • The PIN from your new modem
    • The satellite transponder from your previous equipment
    All of this should have been provided to you by the Pre-Install representative at the time you ordered your replacement modem. If you do not have the SAN or PIN, please call 1-877-611-0831. If you need the satellite transponder, go to the bottom of the article (click here) for step by step instructions. If you have this information, go to the next step.

  2. Unpack and connect your HN7000S using the instructions on pages 1-30 of the included document ("HN System - Upgrading to a Model HN7000S Remote Terminal"). Stop when you get to "Completing the activation process" and return to these instructions.

  3. Browse to: www.systemcontrolcenter.com (or 192.168.0.1) that will display the system control center of your modem.
  4. Click on the "little man" icon that is highlighted on the following screen.



  5. Click on the Installation link from the menu on the left side of the screen



  6. Enter your current zip code and click Next



  7. Click Next on the Verification of Antenna Location page.



  8. Select the satellite transponder and click Next. (same chart as below shown here) For more information, click here to go to the bottom of the page. You can also enter satellite parameter's manually by checking the box and typing in the information.



  9. Click Next on the Verification of Satellite Parameters page



  10. Click Next (all self-upgrade sites have 1 watt radio)



  11. Click Next on Receive Antenna Pointing page. The Perform ACP box should be checked by default. Click on Display Signal Strength.



  12. Click Automatic and then Next once the ACP process is complete.



  13. The following box will pop-up. Wait for a test result.



  14. If the test succeeds, click Close on the ACP window, and click Next on the Transmit Antenna Pointing (Auto Cross Pol) window



    • If the test fails, call 1-877-611-0831 for activating your new modem.



  15. Click on the Next button to start the registration process.



  16. The Satellite Connection establishes and the encryption keys are downloaded.



  17. Click the Next button to continue.



  18. If the popup message appears, click on OK to acknowledge it.



  19. The Subscriber Agreement page will appear. Read the agreement (scroll to the bottom of the page) by clicking and dragging the scroll bar or using the bottom arrow scroll.



  20. Click the I Agree button at the bottom of the Subscriber Agreement page.



  21. The screen where you enter your NEW Hughes SAN and PIN will appear. Scroll down to where you see the Continue button.



  22. Enter your NEW Hughes Site Account Number (SAN) and PIN in the appropriate fields; Click on the Continue button when you are done.

    NOTE: The SAN and PIN in this screen are only Examples; You must enter your own SAN and PIN (that was provided to you by the Hughes Pre-Install Representative). Do not use your previous Agristar Site Account Number.



  23. Verify your name is correct, click on the Continue button to proceed.



  24. On the Registration screen, click Continue. Print this page for your records.



  25. Wait for the configuration parameters to finish downloading.



  26. Click on the Restart button to restart your HN7000.



  27. Click on the Close button to close all the Registration windows.



  28. Launch a browser and go to the System Control Center (www.systemcontrolcenter.com). Click on the System Info link and verify your SAN shows your new Hughes SAN.



  29. Enter a web address in the Browsers Address field and verify you are able to browse.


Finding your Satellite Transponder

If you need to find your satellite information, you can follow these steps to retrieve the satellite from your current terminal:
  1. While connected to your existing DW6000 or DW7000 terminal, open your web browser and browse to www.systemcontrolcenter.com to access your terminal.
  2. Click on the System Info button at the top of the page.

  3. In the System Info screen, look for your Satellite transponder, and note the Longitude of your satellite.

  4. You will need to select a satellite transponder from a dropdown list when activating your new mode. Based on the longitude from the previous step, look up the longitude in the chart below and make note of the information in the Select This Option field.
